Tell Us Your Story and Follow Your Path
Talking and telling stories is an ancient form of human connection and healing. Counseling is talking with a trained professional in order to gain self-understanding and to promote desired change. Maria Droste Counseling Services exists because we believe everyone deserves access to affordable and compassionate psychotherapy and counseling.
Our volunteer staff of licensed professionals (Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers, and Mental Health Counselors) share a commitment to creating a supportive, safe, and accepting therapeutic environment where every client has the opportunity to engage in a process of self-understanding that leads to growth and change.
Maria Droste Counseling Services is known for its culture of service, caring, and hospitality. Sponsored by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, we are named for Maria Droste (1863-1899), a Good Shepherd Sister known for her ability to console those who came to her in pain. We are guided by the philosophy that a person is of more value than a world, and work in a context of profound respect for the dignity of each person who comes to us.
Those who come to Maria Droste Counseling Services are often struggling with life problems at home, at school, at work, in relationships, or within themselves. They may experience a range of difficulties: depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, addiction, or low self-esteem. They can expect to be received with kindness, empathy and understanding.
We welcome individuals and couples as clients regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, ethnicity,
sexual orientation, or economic circumstances.
