I originally came from the for-profit business world where my life was about the bottom (and top) dollar. This experience led me to a love of building and managing businesses while getting the most for the clients for each business I served. I began my journey as a sales assistant and what I loved was challenging myself and thinking outside of the box with relationship building. I worked diligently and fervently up the ladder to Executive Vice President of Sales. I found I was good at setting and achieving goals for myself and my team. I knew my skills were invaluable to every business including the non-profit sector. I wanted to challenge myself again by transitioning to an environment where it was not only about the bottom line, but about valuing me and my history, while also putting my skills towards helping make a difference in others lives.
The core values and mission of Maria Droste Counseling Services spoke to my appreciation of people. As business administrator, I am part of the team responsible for the management and growth at Maria Droste Counseling Services. The bridge for me between my old life in the for-profit sector to the non-profit sector, is being part of a team where I take pride in seeing the collaboration and progress we make. We are creative and inventive thinkers of business management and operations. And, where else on a daily basis can I feel so fulfilled watching the faces of our clients as they turn back to say goodbye to their therapist from a session of healing. It is a perfect place for me and I am blessed to be here!
